Togas, sort of
Return to DiscussionsI buy a piece of cloth 3 to 4 feet by 5 feet (say 1m by 1.5m) and wear it in the style of a toga - well sot of. That's because my togas cover less than most. I pass it under my left arm and put opposite corners on my right shoulder. Usually they are only held in place by the light friction where the two corners cross on my right shoulder. As a result my left shoulder is bare and the right side is open all the way down. The slightest breeze lifts the flimsy cloth exposing everything. It's the same if I sit.
I have a variation in which the toga is held in place by a hair grip on my right shoulder. The idea is that a lady will take the grip to tie up her hair, causing the toga to fall off and make me completely naked. And she should do it without warning.
I tried the sarong-as-a-toga as modelled by Ollygrumps, above, and found it to be delightfully light and easy to wear, covering the essentials when in place, but very susceptible to to faintest breeze.
I found it fell in such a way that the open side was obviously open but with not exposing me at the front or the rear beyond the side of the buttock. However, to stay acceptably covered in a textile zone you'll have to be ready to grab the open side before the wind captures it. If not held, all can be revealed in an instant!
