Back in the late'60s, I became friends with a young man who was lived in Millbrook, NY and who was a close friend of the son, Jack, of Dr Timothy Leary ( yes, that Dr Leary... The LSD guru). I never got to meet, Dr Leary, but my FWB had full access to the Leary's mansion (called the Castalia foundation at the time). The home was huge and set back from the road. We had a long walk down the driveway which might have been about a quarter of a mile long. There were soooo many rooms in Leary's mansion, but it seems to me that we found a room on the 2nd floor with a bed. We decided this was the perfect place to enjoy sex with each other. Before we finished, someone walked in on us. He was as surprised to see us as we were surprised to see him and said "oh, excuse me" and turned around and left, shutting the door behind him! My FWB, Scott, said..."Oh, I think this might have been his room" When we finished our love-making, we had to go downstairs to the main floor and walk through the large kitchen where a bunch of other hippies were hanging out. I didn't know if then and was a little embarrassed. I remember just avoiding eye-contact as we exited through the kitchen out one of the back doors of the mansion. Afterwards, we stroller the grounds and laughed about the intrusion as we headed back to my friend's home.
A year or so later, my FWB who was a chemistry major in college by then, proposed marriage to me which I seriously considered, but ultimately declined because he wanted strict monogamy, and although he was an incredible lover, I didn't think I could keep that promise and live up to his expectations.
