What do you say?

Im curious what folks say when encountering others on a trail while hiking nude.

I pick lightly traveled trails with no other cars at the trailhead when I start and leave all clothing, if Im even wearing any to begin with, in the car. Heading out Im confident of being alone, but not so much in returning. On the return I often think of what I might say should I come across others. Im comfortable being seen and am often erect, but dont want to offend anyone either.

I have yet to have such an encounter and am curious as to what others have said in that situation and what reactions you may have received ?

RE:What do you say?

Good post it has happened to me on different occasions since I probably go hiking or on a new walk almost every day and have for probably at least 6 years when it's people on quads or 4x4s out on the trails you can usually hear them coming and many times they are coming from so many different directions that you don't have time to put your clothes back on or if you didn't even bring them you're just out there totally unprotected most of them will laugh at you or they will beat the horn for y'all but I've never really had a problem and if I do meet any I just say sorry about that and they're like usually it's cool no problem but on different occasions I've ran into couples people walking their dogs or a group of people I always say I am sorry please forgive me usually I am wrecked but not always and so many times I have had to try to cover up quickly or I just become absent-minded and try to pass it off as it's normal.
I'm not a couple while walking one time and I was about to take a picture since I usually walk with a tripod I asked him if they wouldn't mind taking a picture for me which they did the guy said that he was he had enough guts to be out there without any clothes on.
I've started up money conversations with people telling them that I usually am on here and never see anybody on a couple of occasions I've walked on a trail that was divided by a hetero I couldn't see their legs they couldn't see mine we could just see the top of each other's heads we were talking for a good hundred yards and they had no clue that I was naked which I stopped put something on real quick and kept walking.
One time I was out with a friend of mine taking pictures I was about to strip down nude on the trail I looked down the corner of my eye and there was a college student walking by with the camera as well at the time I had on a bunny outfit with my butt exposed. My friend didn't see her either and I was just about to strip down when I saw her I kept on talking to him like it was a normal thing and started making up a conversation about how this will be a good picture for the party there was no party and I just made it up the young college student said nothing I don't know if she ever took a picture of me but nothing ever happened and that was at a State Park in Maryland. I was out another time I left all of my clothes at the car when I saw a man who seen me and I said I'm sorry don't ask I have to get back to my car and started running.
There are three occasions that I've had sexual encounters when I walked nude and a one maybe two occasions the person on the trail joined me as well those are stories for another time but I thought this would be a good way to start the conversation

RE:What do you say?

I've often encountered other hikers while hiking naked. I carry a wrap (a short miniskirt) which I can put on when I see them. They will have already seen me so know I've been hiking naked. It's just a gesture in their favor. Some have commented. I say I'm a Naturist on a naturist walk and ask if they mind. It's usually OK with them.

Hello... I normalize it and people are fine.

RE:What do you say?

Over many years of hiking naked I've encountered people several times and my response varies with theirs. When I'm with a group in a remote area we're more likely to remain naked or make a feeble attempt to cover front with backpacks or shorts; no problems so far. When I hike alone and can hear or see people coming I will slip on my wide leg shorts. I've had a few cases where I started to cover and the people approaching say "oh, don't worry, you're fine." One time I got a scowl from a woman hiking with a couple of males who didn't seem fazed. Just said I was drip drying after a swim (which was true,, I had left a waterfall pool along the trail).

RE:What do you say?

I have been caught a few times, I guess... ok, maybe more than a few times :-) ... but with no serious consequences from the local authorities, even though I did talk with them a few times ... One time I was riding, alone, still completely exposed, on a bike path, after a WNBR event, and encountered a -clothed- couple, sitting near the path. They said something, just as I passed, but I did not completely hear it. It did not sound like an offensive tone, so I decided to enjoy the moment, and return to them for a quick chat. We were on a river path, well below street level, near a downtown bridge, so there was plenty of light in that area. They casually commented on my erection, which I did not even try to hide, and then they said, the local police might stop me, if they saw me like that. I told them why I was naked and that since it was late at night, I was just riding to a WNBR party, after the ride, not really expecting to see anyone else on that path. They smiled and said OK, but be careful, the police might still not want me to be riding naked, on public streets, if I was alone. ... That -was- a totally enjoyable experience in spite of the risk, or maybe, because of it. ;-}

RE:What do you say?

My wife and I went camping and fishing at Green River Lakes in Teton National Park in Wyoming. We camped for a few days and while we were there, I had her take me to the other side of the lake where there was a trail heading up into the wilderness, where she dropped me off with my backpack so I could spend some time hiking.

As soon as she was out of sight, I stripped down to just my tennis shoes and started enjoying the warm sunshine on my naked body.

I laid on a big flat rock for a while and played a bit, then took off up the trail with nothing on but my backpack.

I hiked for several miles and wound up overlooking a beautiful place by a river. The trail was very narrow with rocks and trees close. I was standing there taking some pictures of the river when I heard voices. I moved up the trail a little and could see a nice-looking young couple up the trail a way just standing and talking. I went back to my picture taking and then started back up the trail.

I knew they were there but where they were was on a sharp cutback so that I came upon them suddenly. They were on either side of the trail and I acted surprised to see them but kept going. As I passed between them, I turned toward the woman and said, "I beg your pardon". She was looking at my cock but smiled and said, "Thats ok". I saw the guy as I was walking off and he didn't look pleased at all. She was though. Hmmm, I wonder what might have happened if she'd been there alone.

I finished the hike without any more naked encounters. I still like her reaction though.

RE:What do you say?

Ive been caught nude running twice by women none of whom said anything. I was coming around a corner in each case and had no time to cover up, i simply said hello and kept running. I bring a velcro wrap miniskirt w me to cover if i can. another time two mountain bikes came up from behind, i didnt hear them the trail was flat and smooth there. So they obviously saw me from a distance but they just laughed going by. Only one time hiking nude i had a small backpack had all my stuff in. When a young couple came upon me they kept coming toward me when i guess they suddenly saw me the girl turned away and the guy got kinda nasty. I just said hi and kept walking.

My main worry about being caught nude would be, if someone wanted to claim they were offended, to local authorities :-0 ... and they were fast enough to snap a picture of me, to support their claim. ;-)

It's different in Canada but my view is that the whole thinking of being "caught" frames it already as something wrong. I don't feel like I am being caught just running into other people hiking and enjoying the day and I act as such, never apologizing moving past and if still talking turn my head back so as to not be full frontal, but I dont feel the need to be clothed at all and of course, some places are just a bad idea compared with others. I know the places where its chill and...

It is completely inadmissible evidence to present a nude pic of a stranger without consent or context as evidence of anything but your own privacy violations "that is in back of the men's shower and changing area of the beach" or "I saw her before, she was going by my home nearby cutting behing the yard the other day and snapped this and then saw me on the beach and told me I should give her money for that... or else, or "my wife took that of me on vacation how does she have it"...anything (fire ants and had to take off everything, had to shit and that definitely means shorts off) there are a hundred legitimate reasons to be nude for a minute or two out in nature and a picture cannot establish anything more, unless you act culpable and not upset... but level about the privacy violation, and being willing to forget it if she erases it and lets you officers do your job...

RE:What do you say?

I hike in an area that is known for nudity so its never a problem. There are actually nude area signs painted on rocks to warn others so there is nothing to explain. The hike down into the gorge isnt nude but Ive encountered many guys hiking it in the buff.
