Wearing a butt plug all day

For those who wear a butt plug inserted for a long period of time as we go through our daily routines, do you just rely on your anal sphincter to hold the butt plug in place or do you use some form of harness to hold the butt plug in place?

If I am staying at home I don't wear anything with the plug. If going out in public, I usually wear a thong to help make sure it stays in place.
