And with that experience, how much do you think stigma, shame and verbal attacks helped anyone survive, change their behaviour, or do anythign positive whjatsoever? I went through it too. Still here, and the truth is, that was a different time with different risks. If you take PrEP, there is no possibility of transmission. Zero. If one is like me, and a myriad of HIV positive people, who take ARV and who get regular medical check ups, one has zero virus in the blood or the semen, hence, cannot transmit. INfection takes a fairly decent viral load, mine has been zero since 1998. and the last point is that adults can make adult choices. The lessons fgrom the 80's actually inform some of those. MY choice to use or not uise a rubber with another HIV + person is no one's business but ours and HIV transmission is already waster under the bridge. You can't get it twice. Folks on PrEP don't transmit, so the only cohort in the mix that is a risk are those who don't test. THen you need to be realistic and look at where these peopel are all from and realie that there are few to no hookups happening here. I would say the risk is close to zero. And again, if you're concerned, find a better way to say it.

Here in San Francisco so many of my peers had sex all along without condoms relying on prep to work and now almost all of them have or had diseases. It is foolish to have sex without protection unless you really trust that person, tested consistently/in a relationship with them/married to them (closed, tested if open) even more foolish to trust a pill made by the pharmaceutical industry the very same industry that poison us every day, on the behalf of the US government. In the end of the day We're all adults here, do as you want.
It is up to each individual to make their own choices. Hopefully they make those choices after informing themselves from accurate sources. It isnt ok for anyone to come into this group or any other purely to tell us we are stupid and judge us for our choices. What we choose to do is between us and the others we are making those choices with. It is none of your business.

So full disclosure, I work in public health and HIV and have for many years in a variety of capacities and what you're describing isn't in the literature or the stats. You need a prescription to get PrEP. When they give that to you, there's literature and a verbal explanation of what it does and does not do. Are there irresponsible people? Sure. But no one who was prescribed PrEP thinks it is effective for anything else but HIV. Which it is, at an effective rate better than anything else by far.
Condoms fail. 3% to 15% of all brands tested fail. That's a HUGE amount of failure. They're not the safest way to avoid HIV. Not by a long shot. Let's go to the next claim "diseases". That's just stigmatizing. Which diseases? How? In just your friends or generally in the community? And most people get these treated. Antibiotic and in rate cases like Hep C other treatments. The problem with preaching the condom as the best way to have sex is that it's not motivated by anything scientific. And until I see everyone looking down their noses at raw penetration using rubbers for blow jobs, I don't want to hear it. All the STI's you can get from anal also transmit orally and some more effectively.
PrEP is protection. ARV's are protection. You're going to want to go look at the infection statistics for couples married or otherwise before claiming that LTRs are any kind of yardstick for judging risk. Because they're not. The infection rates in these cohorts are above average. I have 30,000 serodiscordant couples proving PrEP works (more now) perfectly. You have a "big pharma is evil" conspiracy theory. I'm a living example of having had toxic drugs pumped through me and was alive when AZT was reissued patent instead of distributed for free. I've lived through the real human nightmare and cost of what pharma really did. I don't need to make up more stories. And what really frustrates me is after 30 years most of you are still happy to spout misinformation about things that matter to us all.
